Maj, if Ess is holding on to your ass during sex, he's doing it wrong. Generally you want to grab a part that will allow you to get into the woman deeper or at a better angle, which is usually the shoulders. The only time you actually grab a woman's ass during sex is if she's on top, honestly.

The occasional slap or squeeze is, of course, always fun though.

Yes. Many, many times. Let me put it this way: Most people say they are good in bed. I have references. You don't get leverage by grabbing a woman's ass. It's just not in the right part of their body to do so. If that's what you are doing, you need to work on your technique quite a bit.

Oh well, if you have references. That clears everything up.

I'm pretty sure that Ess knows what he's doing better than a third party does. And if Maj is happy with Ess, then you don't really have a place to you know what, this thread is really stupid.

Just to clarify, I was using the term ass as an exaggeration of hips ('cause the comment was in response to waist/hip ratio). I'm not going to get detailed because there are lots of ways to have sex and I'm not about to go into it here, but hip-grabbing can be useful.

Ess, however, has a word for you: hair.

Gonna have to disagree...I used to feel the same way (and still feel the shoulder--or the headboard--is the best place to grab for leverage), but my wife likes the ass-grab, for myriad reasons (which I'm not going to get into here). And I find that giving women what they want in bed is usually a matter of listening to them. :)
I am judging the philosophies and decisions you have presented in this thread. The ones I have seen look bad, and also appear to be the fruit of a poisonous tree that has produced only madness and will continue to produce only madness.

Sabs, my husband got a kick out of that, but decided that further raising might be too embarrassing for me.

On an only slightly related note...

[rant]

The more I learn about sex, the more I am unhappy with its treatment in this country, frequently in the world at large. I'm unhappy with the level of knowledge and study. I'm unhappy with the general inability to have conversations about it. And I'm unhappy about sex toys... Which may sound weird and stupid, but relates back to the first two.

It has been my experience that talking to my husband about our sex life directly correlates to having a better sex life, but even after almost fifteen years of being together, and many, many conversations on the topic, I'm still uncomfortable talking about it. And while it would be easy to point at my background as a source of conflict, even Ess admits that he gets weirded out - and he grew up in a totally hippie, non-religious environment, so I know it's not [all] my church-going history's fault.

Why?

Sex toys seem to be largely marketed towards men - what with the slutty porn-star packaging. And the ones that aren't packaged like that are generally being marketed towards women who don't know enough about sex to want something a little more... adventurous.

So you either get toys that are branded toward naivety and primness, or sluts. I am so not a whore for wanting to buy a strange vibrator. And god damn it, the colors. Why do I need a pearlescent purple dildo? Or one with sparkles? And the materials... Some of that stuff is crazy disgusting. Questions of health aside, phthalate-filled rubber is gross stuff - it's gummy and it reeks to hell. And yet companies seriously expect me to put that in my most personal parts and be happy with it. And the good ones are fucking expensive.

I love [good] sex toys - we even have a pretty decent collection - but the market sucks.

Look into Glass Dildos. They are the awesome, and you can put them in ice water or warm water for some really good things.

But yeah, the cheap ones are made from really lame materials. You have to work hard to get better ones. And I'm not sure I know what a strange vibrator is.. but then my kink meter is set pretty high.
I agree though, the state of sex toys is sad. And there's very few toys that are easy to use on your partner. And the double ended ones are kinda small.. and and..

I'll shut up now.

Ess gets a high5 from me :)

I have one. It's OK for some play, but it makes my muscles hurt if I have it inside during an orgasm - there's just not enough give. I have some really great silicone toys, but they're expensive (thank you to Tantus for having extreme closeout sale prices, though).

This {NSFW, Sex Toys, Vibrator, Slut Packaging} is a strange vibrator. I bought it purely because I wanted to know what it would be like to try.

OK I'm at work now, so literally all the webpages are blocked (it's like sex, facebook games and yahoo sports ... really annoying but it's only the later that annoys me the most) ... go to www.the_c*******.com where c******* is that part of a ladies anatomy whose common name starts with a c and check the pages ... I'm pretty sure that there is a sex toy section somewhere there and that's a site dedicated for the ladies.

Also while listening to Fox News on the satelite radio I kept hearing a bunch of ads for ... wait for it ... female arousal oils. (Zestra to be precise ... apparently some networks are squeemish and refuse to show the TV ads. Dual bathtubs in the woods apparently is OK, but not oils.)

There used to be a show on Oxygen called Talk sex with Sue Johannsen that was very strange. Imagine your grandma hosting an explicit show on sex, sexual practices, and sex toys. The show was actually quite informative. But the best part was the section on sex toys. My wife was pretty happy with what she had to say. They also did off-screen testing of sex-toys and then gave their reviews of them.

Sabs - It requires a very, very high level of being turned on and gallons of lubrication. It's... different. Personally, I'm not big on vibrators - they numb me more than they excite, but like I said - it was strange enough that I wanted to try, and you can always turn them off.

Cynic - I actually watched that show several times, and it was a good way to open conversations between me and Ess. Porn helped that, too, but unfortunately, I don't like real-life porn (Oh, god... their faces!). I prefer it drawn (The one exception being Pirates, which made up in hilarity what I don't generally like in porn).

On Social constructs
Pretty much don't fucking exist. As has been pointed out, standards of female attractiveness are genetic. The blind have them, and every time we have tested them, people with no exposure to western media have them. In order to say that female attractiveness is a social construct, you're going to have to explain how it affects the blind, people who don't speak english or have any communication with western culture at all, etc etc. Gender as a social construct is dead and buried.
On an hour
If you don't know how to spend an hour with a pretty woman who wants to fuck without talking to her, I don't know what to say.
On Personality during sex
Seriously? Outside of lust and ..appetites, when you're having sex you probably aren't going to be having a deep discussion about something. Maybe it is incredibly boring for you or you're asexual, in which case personality would be super fucking important.
On childlike traits
PoliteNewb, you're the one who said that a preference for those traits make a man a predatory pedophile, so goody for you.
On Genetic influence vs intellectual decisions
Are you a dualist? That's really the only way to explain a belief that the intellect operates completely outside the environment in which it evolved and doesn't take the instinct into account. A lot of our thinking is coming up with a justifaction after the fact. While saying that these genetic influences override the actual intellectual decisions would be retarded - the truth is that the intellectual decision is made up of those genetic influences.
On posting attacks
One of the posts on the front page is him responding to a female attacker. He does it all the time, and has multiple posts written up that talk about it. Did you just not do the research?
On Game not working
By your standard, the existence of cars is not falsifiable - When a car stuffs up, you say its' just a problem with the engine or some other part of the car.

As for proof that game doesn't work, I'd like to see people take a few average guys, measure their success with women. Give one group game teachings for a few month, give another group the opposite of game teachings, a third group some generic self improvement advice, and a control group nothing. If the people who were taught game didn't make a measurable improvement, then I'd accept that game doesn't work. If you want to do the experiment, feel free. From what we've seen in the wild non formally game works, but there hasn't been any serious study on it.
On ignoring counter-evidence
I'm ignoring your counter evidence because it isn't actually counter evidence, much in the same way I ignore the fossil record when presented by a creationist.
On me being a sexist and misogynist
Believing that men and women are different is not sexist. Believing that all women don't have male sexual characteristics isn't remotely sexist or misogynistic. A man totally devoted and in love with a woman is to be pitied, even if she returns the favour(which probably won't last for long) and a woman totally in love with a man who accepts that love is pretty lucky. Men and women are judged by different standards.
On fantasies
If you didn't want to do something in any way then you would not fantasise about it, period. Taking a look at wikipedia..."A fantasy is a situation imagined by an individual or group that has no basis in reality but expresses certain desires or aims on the part of its creator.". So yes, you do want to experience at least a part of it. If what you fantasised about didn't have at its' core a desire based in reality then you either lacked the courage to admit that or were using language improperly.
On farting
I assume you've never seen any comedy ever - bodily functions are hilarious
On my ex
When I say unconsciously, I mean that I did not plan out getting into this relationship. It just happened, not as a result of some major calculation by me. As for trying to stop them, I did tell her to stop buying me things. She didn't listen, but still.
On women not wanting to be swept off their feet
I don't know what women you're talking to, but most women who aren't in a relationship already would actually love to get picked up by a lothario and get into a loving relationship. Its' one of the most common subjects of romantic fantasy books at least, and not many men will say no to falling in love with a beautiful woman who appears out of the blue and falls in love with them.
On misogynistic douchebaggery
I'd say that Roissy and most practitioners of game have a great and enduring love for women. There's a reason they put a lot of effort into learning how to maximise their success with them after all.
